House construction and renovation

All but two front flank walls were demolished on this 1920’s flint panelled lodge house in Surrey and a further 45% was added to the original floor area. The construction required extensive use of steel supporting beams in order to convert the awkward original layout into a contemporary modern family home.

Under floor heating was fitted downstairs and the house now has four bedrooms and three bathrooms with an open plan layout to the kitchen, dinning and living room area. Difficulties on this project were matching the old to new but with careful selection of the brick and tile hanging the join is almost seamless.
